But that's not the /meaning/ of life, that's the /purpose/ of life.

If there is an overall goal to life, then surely the meaning to our existance is to fulfill this goal to the best of our natural ability.
Also, if you are saying that there is actually a meaning to life, then you are assuming that we are the result of either the experimentation or workmanship of a higher being... either an idealistic omnipotent creator, such as "god", or the idea which Stone and T.Wedd put forth in whichever topic it was.
Since I don't believe in the possibility of a higher being or race, the idea of a meaning to our lives becomes pointless to an extent. However, living a life believing that there is no point to your existance can induce depression, which brings up that silly little phrase, ignorance is bliss.

If you read the rest of my post, I sorta argued against my own point... so backing my original point up would be pretty aimless.

See this must be the meaning of life, the quest for knowledge.

I agree with you on that--one of the meanings I've applied to my life is most definitely the quest for knowledge.
Mmm, knowledge.

i have too, it just opens your eyes to the world when you know and understand what is going on in it. And it can make things clearer. I guess the meaning of life is what you make of it. If you are happy skulking with a bunch of drunkards every night in a bar, then go for it. Or if you are like me, and have wandering feet, explore the world.

That’s what Kak said a while ago. And you cant determine the meaning of life for all living things, especially if you are like me and accept that everyone and lets them do what they please because you know you can’t stop them nor have the right to. If someone else’s beliefs are wrong then who’s to say mine aren’t? That’s mostly why I agree with Kak.
