okay, this is an idea. I'm going to make a website which basically advertises rorta, jengra, underground13, and pharmaecopia. What I'm going to do is, I'm going to direct people to these sites according to a small paragraph under each site like these are distinctive: pharmaecopia: all your drug info
Underground13: free speech
and all the rest the catch is that they have to register AND they must consult the admin and tell them that JANKE referred them. Then after an admin contacts me, JANKE, I will create for them a custom logo free of charge (which I always do) What do you guys think?

I think that this, like the referral idea, is a bit too likely to populate us with kewls. I prefer sticking to a personal word-of-mouth basis.

The problem with word-of-mouth basis is, it takes forever to attact members. The referral basis brings more kewls faster, while and equal amount of kewls with eventually come in via word of mouth as well.

And if the current members practice discretion in their word-spreadin', then there's no problem.

Janke, no offense, but that's one of the most confusing and pointless ideas I've heard in a long time...
T.Wedd, have you started some sort of proboards forum ring?
[EDIT: dd, not bb]

T.Webb, have you started some sort of proboards forum ring? Unfortunately it appears i have. How are you going to advertise all this Jankee? Through a website or yet another BBS?

If you want to create a website that advertises any site, then go for it if you think it will attract enough visitors to warrant building.
I just don't quite understand the part about the free custom logo's and registering.
Where do they have to register? Your site or the site you are advertising. And who gets the logo, the site they register with or the individual who registers?
Can you just explain in a little more detail.
Signed... T. Wedd

what they do is, they register to either rorta, jengra, underground13, or pharmaecopia. Then the admin for that site tells me if they participated and if they did and they benefited the site, I'll create them a custom logo. If they get a couple more friends maybe a wallpaper. yada yada yada. the catch is, THE ADMIN MUST APPROVE OF THIS GUY

If you have a website up with this BBS's URL, then anybody can click on it, and we'll be just like another TotSE in a few months.

I must admit, I agree with Kakkaraun...

And going the way of Totse is such a sad ending for such a BBS.
