No NO NO NO NO!!!! Not another one of these innane discussions!!! People have been arguing about this topic for years and it's about as useless as arguing about abortion or something....
If you like Macs, fine....If you like PC, fine........
Use what works for you.....

I'm fluent in both. I have constant access to both. I don't care for macs, but there are fast as hell. They have the processor power. It is a different layout from the pc processor. A 700mhz mac is comparable to a 1.5 ghz pc (or around there). Macs are amazing at anything involving raw power and memory intensive stuff, like photo or video editing. A pc is significantly cheaper, and has more programs written for it,just as it also has more viruses written for it. I have Windows XP and I love it, but the mac I have access to is those new white iMacs. They are fast and have a nice screen (it has Mac OS X) but I don't think I will be leaving my PC anytime soon.
The mac G5 is gonna be unbelievable, in terms of speed and raw power.
Sorry about these paragraphs jumping around.

I'm the same. Access to both. Both have thier good points. I also have Virtual PC 4 running on my powerbook but it's slow as fuck. VPC 6 is supposed to be much faster, and on a G5, I'd say that it could run as fast as a PC. On a G4 the speed is almost comparible with running Widows on a PC.

I know that my computer running XP runs amazingly smoothly. XP almost never freezes.

I remember twice that my computer has crashed while using Windoze XP, yesterday being one of them. I have had this machine for almost a year now, though...

A long time ago I had a Mac Performa 400. It never crashed. Now I have a Revision B iMac, it never stops crashing. Stupid piece of shit I hate it...

This is one of those questions without a real answer . I'm a PC man. I just don't believe that the Mac has a purpose anymore, I hate the aesthetic, I hate the OS, I hate the whole "Computers for the rest of us" angle.

I have to back up PCs. Macs have to have programs and hardware completely specialized for mac. That tends to be irritating. With PC, all the hardware is universal and fits with and make, model, or brand.

Not any more. USB peripherals work on both PC and MAC, as do Firewire. Oh really? i was not aware that the hardware was now universal. However it still applies to software. What is nice about MAC is that they have come out with their new 64 bit central processor. Now this is talking computiing power along the lines of supercomputers.

Most usefull software on a PC is available on the Mac too. And you can swap saved files such as .txt .jpg .mpg The compatibility problem with the Mac now lies mostly with games.
