I think it is safe to say that everything is considered magic until you actually understand it. For example, before entering chemistry class, I had no fricking clue how chemical reactions occurred, it was like, magically happening. Then afterward, I felt all unhappy now that the mystery was cracked . That's a common opinion, but I think it's poppycock. A mage can understand magick, but that doesn't mean it ceases to be magick. I think people with this viewpoint are confusing "magic" with "ooooooh...MAGIC!" Now what I mean?

Yeah, magic as in.. wow interesting, I wish to understand the magic behind this (as in what actually happens). Instead of magic as in... OOOOOO that man just burned down for no reason, it must be a sorcerer's doing.

Versus "Wow, I didn't understand that, so it's magic." Which is what you seem to think it is. The latter option isn't magic, it's "something unexplained." The former is magic. Magic does not equal "something I don't understand," it equals...well, magic.

Ahh heck, I was close. Well not quite but I have to look smart. I should stick to science arguments.

Yes, you should . At least I can win those arguments, as my knowledge of the bible is very limited.

I'm not sure. It's an iffy subject for me. I believe in Chi, and I think that maybe this energy is transferred into a power that looks supernatural. As for the kind of magic such as spells and curses, I don't believe a word of them.

Some self-proclaimed mystics off totse a whle back did claim that magic does exist. They said that the stuff in the Necronomicon should not be touched by novice magicians among other BS. Supposedly, you can end up summoning a demon which will either kill you or make you go insane. Hell, there have been even people of Wiccan belief that claimed to be able to perform magic spells. (I am not referring to the preteen wiccan females who want to make love potions). There are supposedly witches of black and white magic.

Chi/ki is what amounts to your bodies internal energym and a way to tap into it for a better life and stuff. Magic, on the other hand, it what amounts to "Blah blah blah, yackity smackity" and *poof* I just summoned a demon from the ninth pit of hell.

From what I know of Chi... It is a way to focus the spare energy in your body to a certain point. Like to your forehead, and you can break concrete blocks with it, to a punch (the famous 1inch punch), to your feet (walking on hot coals and glass), etc. I believe that is possible and has been mastered by the Shaolin Monks, and Indian Mystics (although they have a different name for it and a different approach).

If chi is focusing your body's energy to a certain point, therefore it is not magic.

It is considered magic to people who don't know of it, and professional docters and such say it's impossible
