"If there is some omnipotent overlord called Jesus, watching over me, then I say 'FUCK YOU, JESUS! I'm not going to be your science experiment'" -verm
I was brought up in a Catholic family, I went to a Catholic school and a lot of my friends were Catholic... for this reason, I am athiest. Only because I realise the flaws, the fuck-ups, the contradictions, this is the reason I don't believe in religion.
A 'God' created us? Where is he now? If 'God' wants me, he can come find me...

What pushed me to being agnostic was a reaction to all the bad things I read about the catholics doing over the mellenia. All the wretched depravity and false paradigms made me refuse to support a greedy, murderous, and cruel institution. So fuck christianity, let it be erased from the face of this planet.

First, you're not agnostic, you're atheist . Second, you can't condemn an entire group of related religions because one of them is a paragon of evil. Although all of the Christian sects have done some pretty shitty stuff, your argument for their suckitude is faulty.

Well I am condemning the rest of Christianity because the other groups were originally Catholic as well. With the exception of the baptists. I hold a special place in my heart for them because their revivals often end up turning into orgies.

I do not know which sect of baptism it is. All I know is that some of their revivals are are quite the wild parties. And somtimes turn into what I stated previously. But yeah, I also became agnostic AND achristian was well the fact that those bible toting priests all preach that I am a sinner and will burn in the lake of fire! Amen says the lord! And they also imply that my existance angers God and he hates me. And then comes back and tells me that God loves me. Fucking double standard hypocrites. plus a certain new article that was emailed to me made me loathe religion (Greek Orthodox, Catholicism, same diff ) even more. This woman who was the wife of a priest was stealing money from the church, writing bad checks, and having affairs. She was also involved in a drive-by shooting. No names will be stated. but this really made me question church. I mean the people that run it are thieves and murderers. plus we will never be able to comprehend God, or it's existance, or anything. What gave me more ammunition for bedcoming antichristian has been all the pedophile priests. Plus a lot of devout religious folks I have met are ignorant and closed minded. They will refuse to listen to what you have to say when it comes to religion and stuff.

Are you sure you're not confusing baptists with the Church of All Worlds (a la Stranger in a Strange Land) or something?

I do not wish to question anyone’s religion just question religion itself. I have a lot of friends how have specific sermonizes and prayers that they follow and I don’t ask anything of it. And I ask the same of them towards my “faith”. I live in a state that is mostly Christian. And when ever I am in class and I tell one person that I am atheist the whole class all of a sudden has to ask me why I am atheist, then it becomes a giant debate and I am in trouble. I ask nothing of a person religion because of the way I was brought up. I respect the beliefs of others either know I do not agree with them. In my opinion, all religion wants the same thing. They want everyone to believe that particular religion. And most teach respect and brotherhood towards fellow man. (I say man because human rights, not to be chauvinistic.) And I believe that all people poor, rich or dumb or smart or one-way or another deserve to live. But I might be contradicting myself because I also believe killing without a reason is wrong, such as over religion. If you are killing people in a war over religion then you are just killing people over who has the better imaginary friend.

Religion has done worse than that. theyt have murdered many a intelligent persons over the years. it's almost like they fear intellects. I know this very well yet I can’t make them take it back. Whether today’s religious, I guess you could say, “benefactors” are remorseful for the actions, or not anyone can undo it. Witch is why I can’t say anything of religion towards a person’s beliefs but the religion itself is different to me.

Using that word instead of "which" while talking about people Religion kills off makes me giggle. Oh, and the religious dislike intellectuals because said intellectuals have a tendency to see through the bullshit of religion.
