rifle-grade black powder would be better suited for a burst charge Do you mean BP/pyrodex, or double base?

Actually, I've thought about making a test by putting a metal trash can ontop of one of my stun grenades to see if there were any dents and such. I no longer have a camera though as my incle ran away with it.
also the 46g of flash may be alot but i just wanted to see if the pellets would be blown around equally. 70:30 perchlorate and aluminum flash isnt the most unstable flash mixture either. I gave the static discharge some thought before i decided to put it into a ziplock bag believe me.
If i were to use one of these i would use something a little closer to 25g of flash unless i was trying to cover a large area where 30 0r 40 grams would be fine. dont forget that cops shoot lead filled beenbags out of 12 gauges at people. Those can most certainly cause death if they even hit you in the chest. It's what would be called less-lethal.
I also used pieces of rubber test tube and stuff for the pellets. they dont travel very far at very high speeds. the pieces from the grenade i tested traveled at roughly the same speed as a paintball. I'm not positive as i didnt have anything to measure the FPS on the pellets but i could see them moving through the air (be it at a rather high rate of speed but not any faster than a paintball). For their small size 200 fps which is paintball speed is pretty fast but they would stop easier than something the size of a paintball too since theyre only a third of the size.
Thanks for the post though w0rk. made me think a little ;D
