Has anyone here besides me ever heard of nitrocellulose? It has its uses in both big bore gun propellants and in small arms propellants. It can be mixed with Nitroglycerin to make a gell explosive. Nitrocellulose can be mixed with even smaller amounts of nitroglycerin to produce something called Double base propellants which are used much more in guns. Nitrocellulose Can be made by nitrating any number of cellulose type things. Toilet paper, writing paper, cotton balls, tshirts, jeans... Nitrocellulose Is also detonatable. It's pretty easily initiated, and it's pretty simple to synthesize. It's not the most destructive explosive thats known but it has a pretty high VoD for something made from toilet paper..
Does anyone here have any experience with it? It's great fun just to burn piles of it (I think so anyways).

YES SIR LETHAL SIR! ask next time kid, I dont like to be told what to do. You'll get a piece of my mind next time
A reminder to everyone, this is MY synthesis, I dont want to hear about how someone doesn't like it because of whatever reason.
First thing you need to do is weigh out 50g of KNO3 You then need to measure out 10ml of 95% H2SO4 You then need to grab a good bit of cellulose (toilet paper, paper towels, cotton balls, notebook paper) Then you need to get a bowl (throw about 6 icecubes in it and then put in enough water to make a depth of about 4 inches You also need a glass rod of some sort (a thermometer works great as you kinda need one anyways)
This is the procedure:
add 110ml of the sulfuric acid to a jar
put this jar in the bowl of water
Now add the 50g of potassium nitrate to the sulfuric acid over a period of 5 minutes (thats 10g a minute) and stir vigorously after each addition. Try to keep the temperature at about 35ºC or lower.
Once all of the potassium nitrate has been added start throwing in pieces of cellulose. Tearing the cellulose into strips makes it a little easier to stor around. (i run my toilet paper through a paper shredder)
Make sure that each piece of cellulose has been soaked completely through by the acid/ nitrate mixture
Add all the cellulose you can. stab at the mixture gently to pack it down and break it up so that you can get more cellulose into the jar. Stop adding cellulose as soon as you feel that you cannot get any more into the jar.
Make sure that you're watching the temperature. If the temperature gets up to around 40ºC stop adding cellulose until the temperature goes back dopwn to around 25 or 30.
If you see any brown gas coming ovv of the mixture DONT BREATHE IT IN. Its pretty toxic stuff
Once all of your cellulose has been added, let it sit for around 5 minutes in the ice/water bath. (ok so maybe it'll take you a little longer than 10 minutes. It's easy as shit to make)
After it has set around for a few minutes pour some water into the jar to help break up the nitrocellulose lump thats in the jar. Immediately after you pour the water in, scrape all of the nitrocellulose into a sieve (made for straining things) and rince it with a waterhose into a drain for abour 5 minutes. Make sure to completely soak every bit of the NC. It should be a light yellow to white color after you are done rinsing it.
After you have completely rinsed the stuff (breaking it up with your fingers as you rinse to make sure you wash away ALL traces of acid, let it sit on a piece of news peper in an undisturbed area where it stays about room temperature until the stuff is completely dry.
When its dry, put a SMALL bit (about the size of a dime) on the ground outside and hit it with a lighter to see if it burns. It should burn with a soft but hot yellow flame and making no smoke.

DTP, where can I get sulfuric acid and Potassium Nitrate? H2SO4: Available OTC as Liquid Fire brand drain opener. KNO3: Available OTC as Grant's Stump Remover.

As for the sulfuric acid, Go to pretty much any hardware store. Ace hardware often hase sulfuric acid. Also family owned hardware stores usually have it. Sulfuric acid is getting harder and harder to find but its used as drain opener. make sure you check the bottles if you plan on buying some to make sure that it says sulfuric acid SOMEWHERE on the bottle. Almost all sulfuric acid you will see with the exception of liquid fire will be in a bottle which will be in a clear plastic bag. Id like to say that if you pick up a bottle and it says something like sodium hypochlorite, dont even bother with it because its nothing like sulfuric acid... Altrhough you CAn get some useful chlorates from it... Potassium nitrate can be bought in many placves. grants stump remover is just one source. look in wal-mart for stump removers in the gardening section. make sure it sayd "contAINS POTASSIUM NITRATE" somewhere on the bottle Potassium nitrate can also be bought in bulk for much less. I personally can get a 20 lb bag of potassium nitrate or sodium nitrate (whichever one you want, sodium nitrate has better nitration abilities if im not mistaken) for around 5 bucks. Check places like lowes and home depot for bulk fertilizer. sodium nitrate is commonly sold under the name "nitrate of soda" Also, looking for your chemicals in a feed and farm suply store might be to your advantage. The feed and garden supply store here where i live is pretty cheap and they have an unusually large amount of chemicals that a person in the pyro field might like. I can get 50 lb bags of sodium clorate weed killer for 20 bucks
