Warren Zevon, the musical genius behind such classics as "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner," "Excitable Boy," and "Werewolves of London," passed away quietly in his sleep two days ago, at the age of 56. He had recently been diagnosed with cancer, but lived well past the life expectancy his doctor had given him.
A few months ago, when asked about his condition, he replied "I'm OK with it, but it'll be a drag if I don't make it 'til the next James Bond movie comes out." Of course, he managed to stick around long enough for "Die Another Day."
