Stone hinted a pop-up style message box would be a good addition. So i have just put in the script for one, so you will now receive an msn messenger style fade in/fade out box with your PM status of new messages. This is currently active in the top-right of the screen., and you will receive the message when you log in. However tomorrow i will install the script right across the board so the pop-up will occur in "real time" whenever you receive a message just like msn does. Also i will probably move the box to a better location. Also i put in a button/link highlight feature to make things easier to click in the mean time while i make some better buttons. Also a cleaner looking logo is in place. Cheers

Sounds cool...
I heard in another thread that you were considering switching BBS systems, and somebody mentioned PHPBB. This would be a good choice for PMing, because it has a really nice PM system. I think.
God, my memory is shot tonight.

The main problem is that phpBB requires webspace with an active mySQL database and unrestricted cgi scripting. The board itself is cool, and very easy to work from the inside (administrstion panel.)

phpBB is good, but I just found out I /meant/ to say vBulletin Version 2.3.0. But that might cost money.

Why spend money on a BB? phpBB is free, and one of the best out there. Finding a free host with php support and MySQL was the biggest problem for me setting up my own.

I have tried most major Bulletin Board Software, UBB v6.x.x series is quite good, but this software has grown on me, plus you can do alot by writing scripts for modifications.
Also this site will be updating to the next version of this software soon, which will boast between 80-100 more features then this one.
Plus we dont have to loose anything, but the site will be down for about 2 hours. I will let you know before it happens.
Cheers.

Some will be in the Administration settings, but some for users are...
A Karma feature, which other users can praise or smite a user to increase or decrease the users karma. (optional)
You can choose if you want to see people's signatures when reading threads
You can opt to not display avatars when reading threads
You can create your "own" custom title
Location can be shown in mini profile
Registration date shown in mini profile
Option to view members Avatars in the memberlist.
The "Last Post" column will display what the most recent thread is.
In the Info Center we will add "Most users online ever was X users on X date"
Info center will display today's birthdays.
An Address book for your PMs
All users will be able to go into invisible mode.
And another good board security feature to further protect your accounts...
If someone attempts to login to an account more than 10 times unsuccessfully within a 10 minute period, that user will be banned from the forum for a period of an hour.
So as you see the improvements will be good for the boards operation. Plus the bug fixes will be sorted.
And no...I can't give an exact date when all this will happen before you ask.
Cheers...T. Wedd

I too have a fondness for custom titles. They are the ownagest. Definitely. I was considering using my "personal text" space here as a custom title for a while.

The PM address book feature will also be good if you send alot of messages.
Also the improved security is always welcome.
Rorta is quite secure, but this will help people attempting to "crack" users accounts by password guessing.
So as you see the update will be brilliant, plus i will be doing more then just what is listed in my last post.
Cheers.
