Lately there has been alot of threads going off topic. I had to edit them. I don't have time to edit all off-topic threads, and there is still some remaining. The mods should be editing the off-topic threads.
You may call me a Nazi-mod or whatever, but I don't want to see this place turn out like Totse. If intelligent people come here and see a thread which should be intresting, but is just off-topic drivel, they will not stay. Pointless conversations should be had in the Flame Lounge. That's what it's for.

I disagree. TotSE actually has very little threadjacking. TotSE's problem is that it's full of morons.
If you ask me, a little bit of off-topic discussion never hurt anyone. Unless, somehow, your lack of ability to read a post you don't want to hurts your feelings, or something.

It's really fucking annoying to be reading your conversations with ZBox in the middle of an interesting thread. Now, tell me so, what is the job of a moderator?? To keep the threads on topic so people don't get bored reading bullshit. I don't have time to be moderating all the forums, and neither does T.Wedd. That is what the moderators are primarily for. If you have a problem, IM me or T.Wedd.
And, TOTSE is so fucking boring because the threads do go off-topic so much.

I don't think it's your job to police that, I think it's the mod's job. For PSM, both Prom and I have a loose policy on silliness, and for WS, ZBox is the only mod. Leave that up to us, and learn to not read posts that you don't want to. It's a valuable life skill.

Very well, I will heed your warning and cut back a boat load on the off topic jargon.

Very well, I will heed your warning and cut back a boat load on the off topic jargon. I'll stop "derailing" dead topics as soon as he stops derailing live ones. Or ones that weren't started by him.

Hey Kakkaraun, I got news for you. Prom is also annoyed. Every thread is turning into a silly conversation between you and ZBox. In his words, 'You are whoring the forums'.

Then let him know that he should fucking tell me when he has a problem. I'll stop doing it, then...but you still ought to explain why it's okay for you to derail topics, but not for anyone else.

Where did I derail a thread?

Where did I derail a thread? All of the off-topic threads that you posted in about how much you hate off-topic threads. A few of them jumped on to that topic, making them off-topic-off-topic threads.

People, i don't mind if threads stray off topic as long as they are informative and somewhat relevant to the original thread.
If the thread is originally about using a slim-jim to enter a car, then it evolves in to, defeating car alarms, hotwiring, code grabbers, Lojack systems etc. then i don't care at all.
If someone posts about their new PS2 game in the slim-jim thread, i would appreciate if you don't. It's not fair on the original author and the ones who are following the thread.
I hope people understand whats relevant and whats not. If a thread sparks a thought that doesn't relate to the topic, then feel free to create another thread elsewhere. I don't care how many threads a user creates, theres plenty of space.
Also i don't mind "shout out" threads such as "Hey <member> where have you been?" provided they are in the Flame Lounge.
This standard etiquette just ensures Rorta runs smoothly and makes navigating the board much easier for all users.
Speaking of the flame lounge, i'm locking this thread for obvious reasons. I think everyone now understands without further comment on the subject.
Signed... T. Wedd
