As you have probably noticed, i have made a few changes to the site. Firstly, the 4 user selectable skins are finished and in place. This gives users the ability to alter the appearence of the forum colors. There is the original and the Cyber Blue, which are both darker skins. Also there is the brighter Retro and PB skins to choose from. Thats all the skins i will be adding unless someone has a skin request that sounds pretty cool. Then i will make it up and give it a trial run. Secondly i have added an info table at the top, which i will update with bits of information from time to time. The old Site Meter has been ditched in favour of a Bravenet counter. It displays "hits" to the main page of the BBS. The figures have been updated from the old counter to the new one and is accurate. At the time of doing the counter, Rorta has received... 3,278 Visitors, and 17,517 Page views. Finally, i have just made new buttons for the site and uploaded them to my host for a trial run. They seem to sit quite well with all the skins except Cyber Blue. Creating a whole new button set and Cascading Style Sheet for that skin will be alot of work, so i will leave it for now. Any comments are welcome...Enjoy Signed... T. Wedd

Looks cool... also I'm not sure if this has to do with my end or yours, but I'm only connected at 24kbps at the moment and everything is loading quite fast.

Thats good news. In the process i have cleaned up alot of code for optimal speed. Also all the skins and board images are on my own hosting which is running something like T3 connectivity. The BBS server load could be quite low at the moment, thus making things even faster. Thanks for the input DD, hope things stay this way. Cheers.

Oh, I like! The buttons are cool... although I've never liked the background. It makes the page look cluttered, although thats just my personal opinion. I've always prefered a plain single colour background to a forum... but the buttons look well with the Original skin (and since I have no need to look at the other skins again, thats all that matters! ;D)

At first i thought they were a bit too bold and detracting from the forum page. But i guess thats just because they are new and stood out. But the more i view them and the page, the better it's starting to look. As for the background, i kind of like it. But your not the only one, Stone hates it as well. Well, i will have a look at some other options for it and see how things go. White doesn't suit it, and black is a bit too dark. I will work something out. ;D

The buttons and the original skin are really good. I really like them. But I don't like the ® background. As I said to you T.Wedd when I first joined, plain and simple IMO works best.

Wow, T. Wedd, nice job. I am liking tjhe changes more and more every day . Thankyou Zbox. I made every button from scratch instead of just downloading a button set, as i want to keep things fairly original. Besides, i probably couldn't find a pre-made set to match everything this good if i tried. And Stone, i know you will never let me live it down if i don't change the background. You will probably turn up at my funeral chanting, "you should of changed that background before you died" ;D Ok, it's next on my hit list. Suggestions... Light, Dark, Blue, Grey what would you prefer? Cheers... T. Wedd

I agree with everyone else. The background is sort of off-putting but the upgrades of appearance are good.

DAMN! that looks fine ;D, sorry.. but i have to say this.. the buttons look good, but they are too big.. that's my opinion. and, the background looks very unprofessional due to the fact that the picture quality is not that good and it just looks messy, another thing i would like to add is that it would be better if you changed the background code and added a bgproperties="fixed".
I want to make a new background.. but i dunno if you need one.. [you do] ;D
DAMN, I'm blunt

I want to make a new background.. but i dunno if you need one.. [you do] ;D Thankyou Janke. As for the buttons, i wanted them large just to add a bit of originality. I admit, they do look huge the first time they are viewed, but navigate around the board for a few days to get used to them. They do blend right in and sit quite well with the board. Now the background. The blurred picture quality was done "on purpose". Why? Because it's just a background, and isn't meant to have perfect resolution. The idea was not to detract from the actual message board/post area with a bold high quality background. If you look at an object in the distance, it's clarity isn't perfect. Well same with this, thats why it's called a "background". However considering a few people don't really like it, as i said before it's next on my hit list to experiment with. As for the fixed bgproperties, i tried both bg configurations when i set up the board, and i really can't stand the fixed property on here. It really does look shit. Signed... T. Wedd
