;D For those of you who don't check out the BLTC board at Totse, I have an announcement. I have found my great white whale. For years I along with innumerable other pharmacological enthusiasts lamented the idea that the was no form of benzodiazepine that could pass through the nasal mucousa. That belief is now false I have discovered and I am going to shout it from the rooftops. I was researching cocaine potentiators, and stumbled across two magic words. Those two words were intranasal midazolam. This was a slight shock to my senses, as I was under the impression that there were no benzos that could pass through the mucous membrane, much less the most powerful benzo currently approved by the FDA. Now I know some of you are curious as to why Pharm has flipped his wig over a simple little thing as this. Well to me this is akin to taking a swim off your local beach, where everyone has swam before, and just happening to find a spanish galleon ladden with gold, silver, and jewels. This information has been there for everyone to find, and yet no one had. Well that is quite enough ranting, babbling, and general lunacy from me. Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me exquisite pleasure to bring you this link. Here it is transmucosal midazolam. www.wolfetory.com/docs/intranasal_midazolam_for_seizures_050102_unlinked.htm

What is benzodiazepine and what are the effects? How expensive is it and is it easily available? Are there any slang names for it?

Good questions Stone. I sometimes forget that not everyone knows technical terms, and drug classifications.
Benzodiazepines are a classification of drugs that affect the GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) receptors. Benzos act as hypnotic/sedative drugs that often have anxiolytic, or anticonvulsant effects. These drugs are rapid acting especially in IV use. Most benzos are not snortable because they lack the ability to pass through the nasal mucosa.
Benzos are very safe drugs. Fatal overdose is rare because of the amount of the drug required to supress the respiratory funtions of the CNS. Negative side effects are: anterograde amnesia, some behavioral changes or loss of inhibiton. Rare side effects can occur in just about any system of the body.
Some common benzos are xanax, valium, halcion, ativan, restoril and serax. These drugs are only available by perscription in the U.S., but are commonly available on the underground market. Costs are typicaly 1 to 5 US dollars per pill depending on mg amounts. At pharmacies, prices are much less expensive. My 2 mg xannax bar perscription only costs about 22 cents per pill.

Of course I will KB, My job is to inform ;D.(Damn I love any excuse to take a drug) It will be quite difficult to obtain a script though as this drug is designed to control siezures. It is only perscribed for use outside hospitals if you have a epileptic child....looks like I need to adopt..J/K.

If it's designed to control seizures in children, i would assume the Benzo will come in the form of a nazal spray.
I can't really see parent getting their children to rail lines of powder. ;D

I assume less wastage of the active ingredient due to no filtering by the stomach and liver.

Is tamazipam(sp?!) a benzodiazepine? ...and is valium AKA dimazipam(sp?!)?
If so, these tablets are known as blues, reds and yellows (depending on the colour of the tablet) here and the only way to get them is to go into the heroin dealer estates and risk getting mugged, shot, raped etc.
I need some sort of chronic something-or-other to tell my doctor about. He hands out tablets easily, as long as I have some kinda bullshit to pump him full of.

Strong panic attacks my friend, Xanx is perscribed to curb panic attacks. CHronic attacks will not get you a perscription. Temazepam is a light sedative benzodiazepine.
