There's been a bit of a power outage in the US of A.
It's amazing how something so simple can bring the biggest of cities to it's knees.
You would think with modern technology, there would be back-up grids and alternate supplies to handle such malfunctions.
Food for thought, imagine if it was bombed and had to be totally rebuilt.

I've heard about this, too. I haven't had any power outages in my parts, though.

It looked pretty huge on the news. People getting pulled out of stranded subway trains etc.
Basically it shut everything down, i'm pretty sure it effected the New York to Toronto area.

I haven't noticed anything. Come to think about it I've been pretty cut off from the media for the past few days. I don't watch the news and I don't visit news sites. Sounds cool though.

It's the largest blackout in US history.
Seriously terrorist groups would be laughing how a slight hitch has crippled New York.
It really doesn't look good for American infrastructure.

I personally think we should have a decentralized power grid system and redundant systems to prevent these types of problems. It makes no sense that the entire Northeast power grid goes out because one thing burps. If they decentralized it, using redundant systems, problems can be prevented. I also think this is a sign we should be pushing for alternate forms of energy. Like Solar power. If you made roofs into solar panels, you can save a LOT of money, and natural resources. There was also someone a while back who developed a way to produce energy cleanly and efficiently from tap water, but the US patent office wouldn't patent it, i wonder why . Well yeah, that is my personal opinion.

Has anyone heard the cause of the outage yet?
I know I haven't...
