I believe in aliens because the universe is just too big to not have other life out there. it would not make sense that there are something on the order of 10^22 stars in the universe, and 100 billion galaxies, and go knows how many planet. Just to find out we are the only intelligent life in such an area so vast. Plus there has been too many account of alien abductions, contacts, and UFO sightings to dismiss the fact that there is alien life out there. The descriptions of these beings have all been very similar, and there are tousands of accounts of these. So in al this evidence, I feel that the universe is teeming with life.

I have proof there are aliens. MEXICANS! Illegal immigrants are called aliens. But, I'm guessing you didn't mean that.
Tell me Stone, you're a smart guy. I've seen this before, on polls like CNN and stuff. Why do people bother voting "Not Sure"?
Oh well.
I voted yes; because, I just do. I don't guarentee that they will be advanced, or equal to us, or less evolved then us. I really don't know. I consider aliens to be anything living from another planet, not just the humanoid things on sci-fi movies.

I certainly do believe in their existance.
Actually i strongly believe they created us, kind of like an ant farm experiment.
But thats another story.

I am unsure. Its like the debate whether God exists or not. Thousands of people claim to have experienced Miracles or seeing Heaven when they have a near death experience. These can be compared to people experiencing "Sightings" or "Abductions". Its all down to whether or not you believe in a higher being because at the rate were going we wont ever leave our planet and visit distance planets so for us to meet them, theyll have to come to us. Thus they are more intelligent and therefore Higher beings. In a sense they would be Gods to us. The evidence of Aliens being the basis for our Religions is also worth taking into account. Many people claim that our Modern Religious Texts are just Alien Visitation accounts recorded by Man. So in short I dunno ;D

I believe the same T.Wedd. The evolutionary link from Ape to Man is missing. I believe that we are the by-product of genetic experiments on Apes by Aliens. That is only a theory though, and there isn't much evidence to support the claim (I will start another thread on that sometime). I still believe that it is more feasable than an all-powerfull, all-knowing being that is everywhere at once but we have no proof ever existed except a 2,000 year old book written by men.

I do...the universe is simply too big not to contain lifeforms from other planets.
Besides, the existence of aliens has already been proven. There were living bacteria in meteorites from Mars, IIRC.
What I really love is the people who use the Christian angle to refute Aliens, saying God created us and only us. If asked to prove the veracity of their religion, they'll sometimes use the "Well, all these different people on different parts of the planet all wrote the books that matched up, the Bible...so it must be divine power!" Then, if you tell them about all the different people who saw the same aliens in different parts of the world (before mass communication), they say it's hogwash. But that's kind of tangential.

Actually it was later proven that the bacteria in the martian meteorites was merely an oddball shape in the rock. i also find it odd how the church contradicted itself in the middle ages and rennaisance when people asked what if there was life on more than just earth. There was a monk (don't remember the name) who preached his belief in these things and he was burned alive for it. Yet there is so much evidence even in the bible that alien life exists. there are certain works of art that have UFOs on them, Sodom and Gemorah, and Moses's description of a "chariot of fire" guiding him to the promised land during exodus are prime examples of this.

Actually, I picked this up while watching a program on the science channel. They were talking about the prospect of life on other worlds and such.

aliens are way over rated

Nah, aliens are not way overrated. The fact that they exist changes our whole view on everything. Religion, science, everyday life, our worldly outlook, etc. would all udergo a parofound shift if we knew other life was out there. I don't see why that is overrated.

The fact that they exist. There is no solid proof (known to us) that they exist.
