Ok, well this is gonna be the first reply to many I hope!!!
What to say about whether the world is governed by poilitics or by religion? mmmm I have to say that it really depends on which country you are living in and whether or not it is a dictatorship or a democracy. For instance if you are living in an Islamic country, the obviously you're being governed by religion. In a "Christian" nation, well I don't believe that plays half as much a part in the ruling of the country as it would in an Islamic country. (Unless we are talking about the Vatican!!!!)
So I guess my only bit of wisdom or knowledge on this point is, what I have just posted. It'll be interesting to see what people will say from here on in though.

In the USA, which is (unfortunately) my homeland, it's a combination of both. Obviously, Bush is in the pockets of many corporate benefactors, but he's also a religious man. I think that a man in office shouldn't be a man that follows any dogma--it can lead to highly subjective decision-making.

Unfortunately, I think that the world is governeed by both politics and religion. As a person;s decisions are affected by their religion, politicians are proabably all nice little christians, so they are driven by religion. I can also eleaborate on all kinds of conspiracy stuff about the jesuit Order and the catholics, but I don't think so .

Oh god, I can see it now, nazi-mods galore . I personally think that religion should stay out of how the world is governed. All religion does (the major religions that control the world), is pollute people's minds with misleading axioms and wrongful ideals. That basically boil down to "put t3h money on t3h pl4t3". Religion has essentially turned into a mask for people to hide behind and rely on rather than make their own decisions. Instead of "But the bible sez that I shouldn't teach my country's kids about evolution!" It could potentially be "Evolution is a concept that will be allowed to be taught in my school system, science is beneficial".

Religion has a long-ass history of abusing, misleading, and subjugating the masses. In other words, religion has brainwashed the masses into nto seeing the bad stuff that religions have done.
