I first read The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen when I was in sixth grade, and I have read it so many times up to today.
It is a wonderfull book about a boy named Brian Robeson who is spoiled and the plane he is taking to his dad's place crashes in the canadian wilderness. He has to learn to fend for himself, and in the process bonds with nature.
This book and so many others by Gary Paulsen is suspensfull, informative and none of the information is false. Gary Paulsen personnally experiences everything he writes about, which is what makes him a great author. This book isn't just for kids, it has won a lot of awards because adults see how great it is too. That is why I'm recommending this book to everyone, go out and read it and I promise you will like it.
