The Giver by Lois Lowry is by far...the best book I have ever read in my lifetime. This book not only gives you a new perspective on sameness, but Lowry creates a terrifyingly realistic world. To think that we are even close to a civalization like this is scary as hell.
The Giver by Lois Lowry is a book about a boy named Jonas. Jonas is aproaching 12. He knows nothing of lying. He knows nothing of anything. He lives in a world without color, without personality, without real life. Untill one day on the ceromony of 12 Jonas is picked as the next reciever. He must now go to the giver and learn of his history, of human suffering, of pain.
This book is just...fucking amazing. I loved it. I will read it to my children and I will read it to my grandchildren. This book is the most highly recommended book I have ever recommended to anyone. Go and read this book and you will think differently, I garantee you.
