Just pick how you get your music.

Peer-to-peer sharing of music has become extremely popular, but something me and my friend have been doing since this started is physically sharing mp3s by rewritable CD. We would copy all our mp3s onto a CDRW and pass it around, then everyone would do the same. All mp3s downloaded after this were kept in a seperate folder and after a while, when it seemed worthwhile, we swapped again.
This would be pointless for someone with high-speed internet though, as it only takes seconds to download music. Having a shitty 56k dial-up doesn't make for efficient Kazza-Lite.

I have originals of all the SoaD, Tool, KoRn, Slipknot, Disturbed albums, and a few more... I always download some or all of an album before I buy it though. Buying it is so I can listen to it on the move, as I dont like using copies in my personal CD player.

I feel no need to pay a music store twenty dollars so that they can pay the distributer ten dollars so that they can pay the record label five dollars so that they can pay the publisher two dollars and the actual artist fifteen cents. I also feel no need to have spyware on my computer, so I use Kazaa Lite. I don't plan on DLing any music soon, though, what with this RIAA bullshit.

I do the K-Lite approach. I am not rich like some people so I cannot afford to pay 12- 20 bucks for a new CD with 2 good songs on it and 14 bad ones. Plus free is always a good deal.

I think you mean, two good songs and /ten/ bad ones . CDs aren't big anymore...rarely do I find one with more than 13 songs on it...

Of course it does still illustrate my point. Only worse. Now you pay more money for less songs.

What bothers me most is not how much /I/ pay, but how /little/ the artist receives. Not that I think most of them need more money...but they should get what they deserve. I loathe the concept of middlemen.
