If you listen to hard rock (I am sure most here do), what are your favorite group(s) and subgenre (Thrash, heavy metal, etc.)?

The Berzerker...
I like most types of metal though. I prefer the heavier stuff, and HATE nu-metal.

I recently looked into the berzerker, that is some heavy stuff.
My favorite group of all time is probably Led Zeppelin. I prefer the heavy stuff like death metal and Thrash.

I like metal but wouldnt consider myelf a hardcore fan. Im more of a grunger/punk, but you wouldnt think it to look at me. I make my punk statement by listening to punk and dressing as comfortably as I can. I dont see the need for me to categorise myself with green hair in a Mohawk. As for favourite metal band SoaD I think the vocals are just unreal, the guitars are unreal the drums are unreal theyre just a class band. Also Audioslave are good too but I havent heard much of their stuff. And would you consider RatM Hard metal?

Personally, I like punk a lot, too. Classic rock is really my favorite genre, so I like Hard/Classic stuff, like Black Sabbath. That's probably my favorite hard rock band.

I guess that is what can happen when you are on drugs all the time. Then again, I have heard that Ozzy is a lot sharper than he looks most of the time.

Sheer class but they should get a translator in. Or have him sing it to them, a la that one episode of SNL. They're trying to ask what he wants for lunch. "Sing it to us, Ozzy!" (To the beginning of Crazy Train:) GIANT COKE! With ice, ice, ice! Does anyone remember that?

I like most types of metal though. I prefer the heavier stuff, and HATE nu-metal. Nü-metal as in Linkin Park type music? The nü-metal scene started in the early 1990s with bands such as Rage Against The Machine, Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, KoRn, Slipknot (and more.) This has become an extremely generalised music category. I've mostly been listening to Tool lately, but SoaD still has to be my favourite band of all time.
