...is Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. Probably the only true muckraker of his generation, this guy is pure freaking genius. His writing style is very dry, not loaded with any obvious pathos. However, it's there--he just peels off a stream of very, very powerful facts. Fast Food Nation, his first book, is a lengthy commentary on the fast food industry's enormous effects on America. The effects are more far-reaching than you think; it'll blow your mind. Schlosser's second book is also supposed to be very good, but I haven't read it. It's called Reefer Madness, and it's on the drug culture and the black market. I might buy it with proceeds from the book-return scam.

Does it reveal the true origin of the meat in a McDonnalds Big Mac?
Semi-rotten roadkill or refined prime grade beef?
Signed... T. Wedd

Fat food nation is more like it . I could just about guess what kind of meat McD's uses.

It's not so much rotted as containing fecal matter. For instance, the company that the /USDA/ buys all of our /SCHOOL'S/ ground beef from...well, 47% of that meat tests positive for E. coli. Zing!
And that's nothing near the worst of it...

Unfortunately, it's not the type of book that usually shows up online.
