Regarding the legalities of Members, Rorta and the Information on this site.
You may post basically anything here as long as the information doesn't directly breech the state laws of California USA. However...
Due to the Bill of Rights, particulary the First Amendment, Congress can't prohibit the free exercise respecting an establishment or abridge the Freedom of Speech. Now this is very broad and does give us alot of scope with what we can post or discuss here.
I can say i killed a man online and it's very difficult to prosecute me without further information. With my statement i "could" be lying to impress people or just being an idiot and joking around.
But if i stated where i put the body and how i killed the person, thats slightly another story. Your state law department "may" contact us requesting server logs or IPs in the event that information you posted here directly incriminates you and links you to a felony.
Even "if" we delete the offending post in your defence, they are still able to use data recovery tools to extract the information off the server for an "unknown" period of time.
The duration would depend on how many times the information has been over-written since it was deleted. However in the event we would have to comply with law enforcement requests.
It is a fine line between blatant self incrimination or admission to a criminal offence.
I just hope people understand the difference in their future posts.
Also we don't need or want any information about you, only a valid e-mail address to auto send your password to upon registration of your account.
Myself or my Co-Administrator Stone, have NO connection to ANY organisation what so ever, be it Law, Government, Marketing, Commercial or otherwise. We simply maintain and run Rorta in our spare time for the members of the site to enjoy.
Signed... Administration.
